The serpentine front is the centerpiece of the design — that sinuous, triple-curved case that defined the most ambitious Federal and Hepplewhite sideboards of the late 18th century, here executed in deeply figured flame mahogany that practically pulses with movement in the light. The piece features a serpentine front with an inlaid bellflower design on fluted legs and brass hardware.
