How to Consign with Evolution Home
We do NOT accept walk-ins. EVERYTHING must be by appointment.
1. Are the pieces you wish to consign small household items? (If not, go to step 2.)
a. If they are small, schedule an appointment online HERE. You can consign a maximum of 15 items at one time. We accept appointments Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm. To help expedite the process, please bring in your completed consignment agreement, that includes a detailed list of the items that you wish to consign. All items must be clean and in good condition; silver must be polished.
b. If they are large, move to the next step.
2. If items are large, take photos and email our team.
a. You will need pre-approval from our consignment manager before you can bring in large pieces. Make sure you take a photo in good light, and be sure to take photos of any damage or imperfections.
b. Send us an email at email@example.com with your name, the best phone number to contact you and your mailing address. List in the email the pieces you wish to consign and include your photos as attachments. Please label the attachments with the name of the piece. One photo for each piece is preferred. We receive a large volume of consignment requests so we cannot always respond to your request immediately, but we will get back to you as soon as possible.
3. Schedule your appointment.
a. Once you hear back from us regarding your large pieces, schedule your appointment to bring them in. All of your items must be clean, free of dust, and in good working condition.
b. We schedule appointments Tuesday-Friday from 11am-5pm.
4. Your Appointment.
a. Be sure to arrive on time; our schedule is quite busy, and to make sure you have the best experience, we’d like to spend your allotted time with you.
b. When you leave Evolution Home you will receive a copy of the agreement. Once your items are processed into our system, you will receive an inventory report by email listing your items, their prices, and their expiration date.
c. It is VERY important to remember that on your expiration date, 90 days from the date of processing, your items will become the property of Evolution Home if you do not pick them up beforehand!
5. Sale & Pick-Up
a. Please see the consignment agreement for information regarding the discount schedule of your items.
b. Mark your pick-up date on your calendar as a reminder. We do not call when your items sell, but you can check your account online. Consignors wishing to pick up their unsold items must bring their own packing supplies.

Q: What sells?
A: We wish we had the perfect answer, but trends change daily and it’s all about the right person coming in at the right time. With lots of people downsizing and liquidating estates at the same time, many people are getting rid of the same items, which means we have a surplus of certain items (i.e. China, Glassware, art etc). Our customers look for UNIQUE items that can’t be be found just anywhere.
Q: Will my appointment really take an hour?
A: NO! It should only take a few minutes, especially if you come prepared with your list of items/descriptions. We allot more time per appt so that WE can do the research involved to price, photograph, list, and place items, as well as fulfill our other required duties at the store.
Q: Do I need to price my items myself?
A: No- but if you have a minimum amount you’d like to get, we’d like to hear it. If you know how much you paid for it, that is helpful information as well. If concerned about pricing, please discuss with a team member at your appointment. We price what we know our market will pay.
Q: My items didn’t sell at at my yard sale, should I bring them in?
A: Sorry, no. For a small business to succeed it is imperative we have the best quality items to provide for our customers. If they didn’t sell for less money at a yard sale it is unlikely they will sell for more in store.
Q: I am interested in consigning furniture- but my item is ripped/ damaged/ scratched/ stained/ needs re-upholstering/ re-finishing. Would you still take it?
A: Sorry, all items must be floor ready and in good condition. When you send pictures of your furniture items (as required), please include close ups of any of this damage and we will let you know if it is acceptable to take. Please consider charities such at The Nest Collective or Habitat for Humanity if you have what might be considered a “project piece”.
Items Never Accepted for Consignment
– furniture in need of repair, refinishing, or reupholstering
– furniture with noticeable scratches, dings, water spots on primary surfaces or missing or broken hardware
– entertainment centers
– large office furniture
– recliners and sofa beds
– beds and mattresses
– appliances and electronics
– clothing, shoes (unless vintage or antique)
– stemware sets less than 4 pieces
– china sets less than 4 place settings
– chandeliers missing crystal prisms
– florist vases
– dried or plastic flowers
– promotional items with logos
– stuffed animals, dolls
– cassettes, VHS tapes, DVDs
– lamps without shades or with damaged shades or electric cords
– tarnished silver
– board games or puzzles
– books (unless they are coffee table books or rare books)
– baby furniture
– stained, frayed, or torn linens
– taxidermy items
– collectors plates
– furniture or items requiring assembly
– holiday items out of season (ask for seasonal date range)
– handmade crafts only a mother would love
